The public rules set your premium. Until now, nobody checked them against your data.
Workers’ compensation premium is built on inputs most employers never see checked: class codes, claim reserves, payroll audits, and an experience mod that recalculates every year on a rolling three-year window. An uncaught error doesn’t overcharge once — it compounds.
The rules and values that govern all of it are public. They sit in regulator-approved filings, published rating plans, and bureau manuals. What hasn’t existed is software that recomputes the arithmetic from those sources and shows its work.
So we built it: recomputation software tested against the bureaus’ own published worked examples, an effective-dated registry of filed state values sourced from public filings, and an analysis pipeline where every extracted number carries a citation.
Three commitments
Independent
Premwise does not sell insurance, receive carrier commissions, or recommend a carrier. Our role is limited to independent analysis.
Rigorous
The mod calculation is deterministic code over versioned filed values — never a guess, never a model output. Every number is cited to the worksheet line it came from, and every result is released by an automated verification stack — no Premwise human reviews or overrides it.
Honest
A clean result is a real result. When the checks we complete find no material discrepancy, that is what we say. Feature availability varies by state, and we tell you what’s available before anything starts.
The public numbers are free to everyone. If your rating holds up to a careful check, you’ll know — and if it doesn’t, you’ll see exactly where, with every number cited.
